PART 5: This Man Filmed a Bigfoot Face to Face. CLEAREST Sasquatch Footage I’ve SEEN

PART 5: THE THING THAT FOLLOWED HIM HOME

By the time Daniel reached the gravel road, the sun had almost disappeared behind the trees.

He didn’t stop walking.

He didn’t look back.

Every few seconds, however, he heard something moving behind him.

A branch snapping.

Leaves shifting.

Then silence.

He told himself it was a deer.

Then a raccoon.

Then the wind.

But none of those explanations lasted very long.

Because whatever was behind him seemed to be following at exactly the same distance.

Not approaching.

Not falling behind.

Just following.

Daniel’s phone was still in his hand.

The screen was dark.

The last recording was still saved.

Fifteen seconds.

Fifteen seconds of something that should not have existed.

He stopped at the edge of the gravel road and finally turned around.

The forest stared back at him.

Nothing moved.

The trees stood perfectly still.

Daniel waited.

Ten seconds.

Twenty.

Thirty.

Nothing.

He laughed nervously.

“You’re losing it,” he whispered.

Then something knocked against a tree.

Three times.

**Knock.

Knock.

Knock.**

Daniel froze.

The sound had come from deep inside the woods.

He knew that rhythm.

He had heard it before.

Not that afternoon.

Months earlier.

The first time he had noticed the strange marks around his property.

The first time his trail camera had mysteriously shut itself off.

The first time he had found a line of stones arranged across the path behind his house.

Three stones.

Perfectly spaced.

He had dismissed it then.

Now he wasn’t so sure.

Daniel slowly raised his phone.

The camera was still recording.

He pointed it toward the trees.

“Is somebody there?”

Nothing.

Then another sound.

This time it wasn’t a knock.

It was a voice.

Barely audible.

Almost human.

Daniel’s blood went cold.

The voice came from somewhere beyond the trees.

“Daniel.”

His entire body locked up.

He hadn’t told anyone where he was going.

Nobody knew he had come into these woods.

Nobody should have known his name.

He took one step backward.

Then another.

The voice came again.

“Daniel.”

This time it sounded closer.

Daniel turned and ran.

He didn’t care about the camera anymore.

He didn’t care about evidence.

He didn’t care whether anyone believed him.

He ran toward his truck.

The forest exploded behind him.

Branches cracked.

Something heavy moved through the undergrowth.

Fast.

Far too fast.

Daniel reached the truck, threw open the door, and climbed inside.

He slammed the locks down.

For several seconds, he simply sat there.

His chest was heaving.

His hands were shaking.

He looked at the rearview mirror.

Nothing.

Only darkness.

He started the engine.

The headlights illuminated the gravel road.

Still nothing.

Daniel shifted into reverse.

Then stopped.

There was something on the road behind him.

A shape.

Standing at the edge of the trees.

Daniel stared.

It was too tall.

Too broad.

Too still.

His headlights caught the outline for only a moment.

Then the figure stepped backward.

And disappeared.

Daniel’s foot slammed down on the accelerator.

The truck shot forward.

He didn’t stop until he reached the main highway.

That night, Daniel didn’t sleep.

He sat at his kitchen table with his laptop open and the phone connected by a cable.

The video was on the screen.

He watched it again.

And again.

And again.

The creature crouched behind the branches.

Its eyes fixed on the camera.

Its chest rising and falling.

Then the retreat.

Daniel paused the video.

He zoomed in.

The image became pixelated.

He tried again.

Nothing.

Then he noticed something he hadn’t seen before.

Behind the creature was a tree.

On the tree was a mark.

A vertical line.

Then another.

Then another.

Three parallel scratches.

Daniel leaned closer.

He opened another photograph on his computer.

It was one of the pictures he had taken three weeks earlier.

The same marks appeared on a tree behind his house.

Three vertical scratches.

Exactly the same distance apart.

Daniel stared at the two images.

“No.”

He searched through his files.

Another photograph.

The marks appeared again.

Different tree.

Different location.

Same pattern.

Three scratches.

Daniel opened his trail-camera archive.

Hundreds of images.

Most were ordinary.

Deer.

Foxes.

Raccoons.

Coyotes.

Nothing unusual.

Then he found one.

A photograph taken at 2:17 a.m.

The image was almost completely black.

At first, Daniel saw nothing.

Then he increased the brightness.

Something appeared between the trees.

Two eyes.

Far away.

Watching the camera.

Daniel’s stomach tightened.

He checked the date.

The photograph had been taken two nights before his encounter.

He opened the next image.

The eyes were closer.

The next.

Closer still.

Then the camera had gone black.

Daniel sat motionless.

He checked the metadata.

The camera had not malfunctioned.

Someone—or something—had physically covered the lens.

His breathing became shallow.

He opened the final photograph.

It wasn’t black.

It showed the ground.

Leaves.

Mud.

And a footprint.

Huge.

Five toes.

Deeply pressed into the soil.

Daniel stared at it.

Then he noticed something else.

The footprint wasn’t facing the forest.

It was facing the house.

At 3:12 a.m., Daniel heard something outside.

A soft sound.

Like footsteps on wet grass.

He switched off every light.

The house became silent.

He stood behind the kitchen curtain and looked through the window.

The backyard was empty.

Then something moved near the fence.

Daniel’s heart stopped.

A shadow passed between the trees.

He couldn’t see its body.

Only the movement.

Slow.

Careful.

Deliberate.

It stopped.

Daniel held his breath.

The shadow turned toward the house.

He knew, somehow, that it was looking directly at him.

Then it vanished.

Daniel remained at the window for almost ten minutes.

Finally, he stepped away.

He returned to his laptop.

The video was still open.

But something had changed.

The recording had been playing automatically.

Daniel frowned.

He hadn’t touched the mouse.

He rewound the footage.

The creature appeared again.

Crouched.

Watching.

Daniel stared at its eyes.

Then he noticed something strange.

The creature wasn’t looking at the camera.

Not exactly.

Its eyes seemed to be looking past the camera.

Toward something behind the man filming.

Daniel froze.

He rewound.

Played it again.

The same thing.

The creature’s gaze wasn’t fixed on the phone.

It was fixed slightly to the left.

Behind him.

Daniel’s skin prickled.

He watched the final seconds.

The creature suddenly moved backward.

But before it disappeared, its head turned.

Just slightly.

Toward the left.

Toward whatever had been behind the camera.

Daniel paused the frame.

His heart began pounding.

He zoomed in.

There was something in the background.

Almost invisible behind the branches.

A second shape.

Daniel stared at the screen.

“No…”

He increased the brightness.

The shape became clearer.

It wasn’t a tree.

It wasn’t a shadow.

It looked like a face.

Another face.

Smaller than the first.

Watching from deeper in the forest.

Daniel sat back.

There hadn’t been one creature.

There had been two.

And the first one hadn’t been hiding from him.

It had been hiding from the second one.

The next morning, Daniel drove back to the woods.

He knew he shouldn’t.

Every rational part of his mind told him to stay home.

But curiosity had become stronger than fear.

He brought two cameras.

A flashlight.

A backpack.

And a rifle he hoped he would never need.

He parked several hundred yards from the location.

The forest looked different in daylight.

Ordinary.

Almost peaceful.

Birds moved through the branches.

A squirrel ran across a fallen log.

Nothing seemed wrong.

Daniel followed the path toward the encounter site.

When he reached the spot, he immediately noticed something.

The branches were broken.

Not randomly.

A narrow passage had been created through the brush.

Something large had pushed through it.

Daniel followed the trail.

Ten yards.

Twenty.

Thirty.

The tracks became clearer.

Deep impressions in the mud.

Bare feet.

Massive.

The footprints continued uphill.

Daniel followed.

Then they stopped.

Completely.

No gradual disappearance.

No rocks.

No fallen logs.

Just nothing.

Daniel crouched down.

He examined the soil.

The final footprint was nearly four inches deep.

Then he noticed something beside it.

A smaller footprint.

Much smaller.

Still human-shaped.

Five toes.

Daniel slowly stood.

There were two sets of tracks.

One enormous.

One considerably smaller.

Both were heading in the same direction.

Toward an abandoned logging road.

Daniel followed.

The road had not been used in years.

Trees grew through the center.

Moss covered the old tire marks.

At the far end stood a collapsed hunting cabin.

Daniel remembered seeing it on an old map.

He had never been inside.

Now he approached the doorway.

The door was hanging open.

He pushed it.

It creaked.

Inside was darkness.

The smell hit him first.

Wet earth.

Animal musk.

And something else.

Smoke.

Recent smoke.

Daniel raised his flashlight.

The cabin was empty.

At least, it appeared empty.

There was an old chair.

A broken table.

A rusted stove.

Then Daniel saw the wall.

Three scratches.

Again.

Three parallel lines.

But this time there were dozens of them.

Covering the entire wall.

Some were old.

Some looked fresh.

Daniel stepped closer.

The scratches weren’t random.

They formed patterns.

Groups.

Lines.

Almost like writing.

He photographed them.

Then he noticed something beneath the scratches.

A handprint.

Dark.

Large.

Pressed into the wood.

Daniel placed his own hand beside it.

His fingers barely reached halfway across the palm.

He swallowed.

Then he heard something behind the cabin.

A low growl.

Daniel turned.

Nothing.

He slowly stepped outside.

The forest was silent.

Too silent.

No birds.

No insects.

No wind.

He whispered:

“I know you’re there.”

A branch moved.

Daniel raised his camera.

Nothing.

Then something hit the cabin wall.

THUD.

Daniel jumped.

Another.

THUD.

The entire structure shook.

He backed away.

Something was inside.

He pointed the flashlight toward the doorway.

A dark shape crossed the opening.

Too fast to identify.

Daniel stumbled backward.

Then he heard a sound that made him stop.

A soft clicking noise.

Three clicks.

**Click.

Click.

Click.**

The same pattern as the tree knocks.

Daniel’s phone vibrated.

He looked down.

Unknown number.

One message.

He opened it.

There was no text.

Only a photograph.

Daniel stared at the image.

It was a picture of him.

Standing outside the cabin.

Taken from somewhere behind him.

The timestamp was ten seconds ago.

Daniel slowly turned around.

The forest was empty.

His phone vibrated again.

Another photograph.

This one was closer.

Much closer.

It showed the back of Daniel’s head.

Taken from only a few feet away.

Then a third message arrived.

This time there was text.

Four words.

YOU SAW THE WRONG ONE.

Daniel’s blood turned cold.

A sound came from the trees.

Not a growl.

Not a knock.

A whisper.

“Daniel.”

He dropped the phone.

And somewhere beyond the trees, something enormous began moving toward him.

The camera kept recording.

For the first time, Daniel didn’t run.

He simply stood there.

Listening.

Because another sound had joined the footsteps.

Something smaller.

Something moving quickly through the brush.

Something that sounded almost human.

And then, from somewhere deep in the forest, came a scream.

Not from the creature approaching him.

From something else.

Something terrified.

Daniel looked toward the sound.

His expression changed.

Because he suddenly understood what the first creature had been doing in the original video.

It hadn’t been hiding from him.

It had been hiding him from something else.

And whatever that second thing was…

It had finally found them.

The recording continued for another eleven minutes.

But Daniel never appeared on camera again.

The final frame showed the abandoned cabin.

The door was open.

The forest beyond it was empty.

Except for two enormous figures standing between the trees.

One was watching the cabin.

The other was looking directly at the camera.

Then, just before the footage ended, the smaller figure slowly raised one hand.

And pointed toward the ground.

At something beneath the camera.

Something that had not been there when Daniel arrived.

The recording cuts there.

No explanation.

No body.

No answer.

Only one final question remains:

If the creature Daniel filmed was hiding from another Sasquatch… what exactly was the second creature hiding from?
