Jason Kelce on his return to Linc for Monday Night Countdown: ‘Potential to be very raucous’

Jason Kelce says the atmosphere during his upcoming Week 2 appearance on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown at Lincoln Financial Field “has the potential to be really raucous.”

“I think it’s going to be pretty chaotic. We’re gonna be outside, I think right outside of Xfinity if I’m not mistaken right in the parking lot. It has the potential to really be very raucous. Nick Foles is coming back. I think Fletch [Fletcher Cox] might be coming back. Philadelphia fans are gonna be really fired up. Obviously the first home game of the year if you don’t count Brazil, which none of us do. So I’m really looking forward to it.”

The Eagles are 6.5 point favorites at home on Monday night against Kirk Cousins and the Falcons, who Kelce expects to be fired up after a “sluggish” offensive performance in a Week 1 loss against an incredibly tough Pittsburgh Steelers front.

Foles, who recently retired from the NFL, will be honored during halftime of the Eagles-Falcons game on Monday night.

Kelce, who is now an ESPN Monday Night Football Countdown analyst, joins Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie live in-studio on the 94WIP Morning Show every Tuesday from 7:30-8:30am.

Kelce also talked about his brother’s girlfriend Taylor Swift winning seven VMA Awards on Wednesday night.

Former Philadelphia Eagles’ center Jason Kelce forgot his shirt for his “Monday Night Countdown” debut

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Jason Kelce made his “Monday Night Countdown” debut before the San Francisco 49ers-New York Jets game and went viral in the process.

The recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center was forced to buy a shirt at the mall because he left his travel bag behind in a truck ahead of his trip to the West Coast.

“It fits my belly now, I lost a little weight but my [expletive] are still struggling,” Kelce said.

“The fact that a Hall of Fame center can shop at Lululemon, that’s big, man. That’s a big accomplishment,” said Ryan Clark, a former NFL safety and analyst on ESPN.

Jason Kelce’s brother, Travis, posted on X that he was “surprised he bought a new one and didn’t just go shirtless.”

Jason Kelce officially joined ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” in May two months after he retired from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Eagles. Jason Kelce will be on the pregame show from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. leading into Monday Night Football through the regular season. He’ll also be on the pregame show for ESPN’s wild card and divisional playoff games at halftime during each broadcast.

Jason Kelce won’t have to travel too far next week for work.

The Eagles will host the Atlanta Falcons next Monday in their home opener at Lincoln Financial Field, so if Jason Kelce forgets a shirt again, he will be able to run back to his home in Delaware County and grab another.
