A 32-year-old Muslim activist from Atlanta, Kabir had spent the majority of his life fervently defending Islam against what he saw as the deceptive theology of Christianity. Born into a devout Muslim  family, where his father was an imam and his mother a teacher of the Quran, Kabir was raised to view Christianity as not just a competing religion, but as a theological threat. Raised in a household steeped in the teachings of Islam, Kabir’s worldview was shaped by the faith he was born into. This event devastated Kabir and his family, reinforcing his belief that Christianity wasn’t merely a theological disagreement but an outright attack on his faith. In response to this, Kabir took part in a demonstration against a major Christian conference in downtown Atlanta. What started as a protest quickly escalated into something much more personal.

On that fateful day, Kabir and his group planned a dramatic act of defiance—burning Bibles in front of the Christian conference attendees. The act was meant to send a clear message: Kabir was rejecting Christianity and everything it stood for. He hoped that the attention garnered from the media would send an unambiguous statement about the supremacy of Islam and the falsehoods of Christianity.

But as Kabir prepared to burn the Bible, something unexpected happened. Standing in front of the crowd, with the Bible in his hands, his foot hovering over the pages, Kabir suddenly found himself unable to move. His legs, once full of purpose and determination, froze. It wasn’t just the nerves of the moment or a physical limitation—Kabir’s legs were completely paralyzed, as though a force far beyond his own control was preventing him from completing his action.

Panic set in as Kabir struggled to lift his foot and free himself from the unnatural paralysis. The crowd around him grew concerned, and as his legs refused to respond, Kabir felt something—an undeniable presence, something far more profound than just a physical ailment.
