Another record and a new NBA milestone has just been conquered by LeBron James, showing the superstar status of the player who turned 40 this year.
Already the NBA’s record holder for leading the all-time scoring list, LeBron James has just successfully conquered a new milestone.
With a 3-pointer assisted by Luka Doncic, LeBron James became the first player in NBA history to reach 50,000 points (including Regular Season and Playoffs).|
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar achieved this feat at the age of 40, just one day after being named NBA Western Conference Player of the Month. On Monday, LeBron James scored 17 points in a 106-102 win over the LA Clippers, stopping at 49,999 points. Today, the “king” only needed half a quarter to successfully shoot from afar, bringing him past the 50,000 mark.
Behind James are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (44,149 points), Karl Malone (41,689 points), Kobe Bryant (39,283 points) and Michael Jordan (38,279). If counting active players, Kevin Durant is the only name in the top-10 in total points scored, currently at over 35,000 points.
Even though he is in his 22nd year playing in the NBA, LeBron James still possesses a set of stats that any player dreams of. Currently, the superstar born in 1984 has an average of 24.8 points, 8.6 assists and 8.0 rebounds per game, along with a 52% FG shooting rate. In addition, since turning 40, James has reached the 40-point mark twice in a game, something that only Michael Jordan has done once before.
