Stephen Curry reaches 25,000 career points with special stats
Unlike the previous 25 players who have reached the 25,000 point mark, Stephen Curry conquered this special number in his own unique way.
In the narrow 115-110 victory between the Golden State Warriors and the Detroit Pistons last week, Stephen Curry scored 32 points with 4 assists, shot 12-12 FT and had 4 successful long-range shots.
One of those four 3-pointers helped Curry surpass the 25,000-point mark in the Regular Season, becoming the 26th player in NBA history to conquer the "25K" mark. If we only count scoring 25,000 points for a single team, Stephen Curry is the 10th player to do so.
Stephen Curry also reached the "25K" milestone in true style as the player with the most 3-pointers in history.
Of the 25 players who have previously surpassed 25,000 points in the NBA, the majority of those points were scored from 2-point range (67.5%). Free throws accounted for 22.9% and 3-pointers accounted for only 9.7%.
But for Stephen Curry, nearly half of his 25,000 points were scored from beyond the 3-point arc (47.9%). 2-point range accounted for 36.3% of total points, free throws accounted for 15.7%.
Now 36 years old and 26th on the NBA's all-time scoring list, Stephen Curry is still playing at an All-Star and All-NBA level.
The 1988-born guard averaged 24.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season. Curry's 3-point shooting percentage stood at 39.7%, impressive both in quantity and quality.
